Product Description: Vanilla essential oil is extracted from vanilla planifolia, which belongs to the Orchidaceae family. It is native to Mexico and Central America and is one of the primary sources of vanilla flavouring. The Flowers are greenish-yellow, with a diameter of 5 cm (2 in) and they mature after about five months, at which point they are harvested and cured.
Note: Vanilla 10 Fold is immiscible in water and oil; soluble in ethanol only, it will leave a sediment. This product contains vanillin, an organic aldehyde that will affect the color in soaps and body-care products. Not suitable for candle use. Avoid very high concentrations in skin-care products. It is recommended that this oil be stored in dark amber, blue or green glass bottles as it has been found to dissolve aluminum bottles.
Cautions: Dilute before use; for external use only. May cause skin irritation in some individuals; a skin test is recommended prior to use. Contact with the eyes should be avoided.
Storage: It is recommended that oils packaged in metal containers (for safe shipping), be transferred into dark glass containers as it has been found to dissolve aluminum bottles.
