Product Description: The single flowers are an off-white in color while the stem is densely branched and up to 60 cm tall. The fruit are berries that may be green, yellow or red when ripe. It is native to southern North America and northern South America. Capsinoid chemicals provide the distinctive tastes in capsicum annuum variants. In particular, capsaicin creates a burning sensation, which in extreme cases can last for several hours after ingestion. A measurement called the Scoville scale has been created to describe the hotness of peppers and other foods. The oil is derived by passing steam through the seeds – the source of the most intense spice.
Cautions: Dilute very well before use; May cause skin irritation in some individuals; a skin test is recommended prior to use. Contact with eyes and mucous membranes should be avoided; wash hands immediately after use. Excessive use of this product should be avoided. It may stain clothing and skin.
Storage: It is recommended that oils packaged in metal containers (for safe shipping), be transferred into dark glass containers to maintain freshness and attain maximum shelf life.
