Essential Oils Dilution Chart
Botanical Name: Juniperus virginiana
Plant Part: Wood
Origin: USA
Processing Method: Steam Distilled
Product Description: Juniperus virginiana is a broadly conical, sometimes columnar, dense, evergreen conifer with horizontal branching that typically grows to 30-65’ tall. Gray to reddish-brown bark exfoliates in thin shreddy strips on mature trees. The fine-grained, soft brittle pinkish- to brownish-red heartwood is fragrant, very light and very durable. It has a soft, woody smell with a faint undertone of sandalwood. The wood is marketed as “eastern redcedar” or “aromatic cedar”. The best portions of the heartwood are one of the few woods good for making pencils, but the supply had diminished sufficiently by the 1940s that it was largely replaced by incense-cedar.
Cautions: Dilute before use; for external use only. May cause skin irritation in some individuals; a skin test is recommended prior to use. Contact with eyes should be avoided.
