Color/Consistency: This particular Bergamot oil is yellowish-green to yellowish-brown with a thin consistency.
Product Description: Citrus bergamot is grown in southern Calabria (province of Reggio), southern Italy. One hundred bergamot oranges yield about three ounces (85 g) of bergamot oil. The oil contains extremely large amounts of polyphenols, as compared to other citrus species. Bergamot contains extremely large amounts of polyphenols, as compared to other citrus species.
Note: Although generally, Bergamot Essential Oil has phototoxic properties and exposure to the sun must be avoided after application to the skin, in this product the bergaptene content which causes photosensitivity has been removed and it is safe to be exposed in sunlight after application to the skin. Dilute well before use; May cause skin irritation in some individuals; a skin test is recommended prior to use. Contact with the eyes should be avoided.
Storage: It is recommended that oils packaged in metal containers (for safe shipping), be transferred into dark glass containers to maintain freshness and attain maximum shelf life.
